Reusch - History of the company
... as is so often the case, everything starts out small. Company founder Karl Reusch designed his first pair of gloves as early as 1934. What was once created and sewn by hand in the attic at home in Metzingen, Austria, was soon to go into series production. At the beginning of the 1970s, Gebhard Reusch, the son of the company founder, took over the company and developed the first collection of ski gloves. In addition, the world's first goalkeeper's glove was developed in cooperation with the former national goalkeeper Sepp Maier.
In the mid-1980s, the winter sports segment was expanded, and Reusch became the world market leader in the field of sports gloves towards the end of the decade. A skiwear collection and several team sports collections were launched for the first time.
Since 1972, alpine athletes wearing Reusch gloves have captured 75% of all available medals in major alpine ski competitions, from Ski World Cups to the Winter Olympics. Today, the glove specialist kits out not only the Austrian and Swiss Ski Associations with athletes like Marco Schwarz and Marco Odermatt but also skiers from the French, Norwegian, US, Slovenian, and Liechtenstein ski teams, including Alexis Pinturault, Henrik Kristoffersen, Mikaela Shiffrin, Petra Vlhova and plenty more.
Since 1974, many goalkeepers in the top national divisions worldwide have relied on Reusch goalkeeper gloves, bringing home six World Championships, six European Championships, three Copa America, and many more. Alongside current top goalkeepers Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur and French national team), Wojciech Szczęsny (Juventus FC), Simón Unai (Athletic Bilbao), Samir Handanovič (FC Internazionale), Jiří Pavlenka (SV Werder Bremen), Franco Armani (CA-River Plate) and Agustín Marchesín (FC Porto), Reusch currently sponsors more than 220 professional goalkeepers in the top national divisions around the world.
Gloves from Reusch
Based on the last 80 years of experience, Reusch is today synonymous with high-quality and progressive gloves. Goals at Reusch, such as reliability, inspiration, and innovation, are reflected through modern and authentic designs and the latest technologies and processing methods. As a company deeply rooted in the incredible habitat of the Alps, Reusch is wholly dedicated to producing high-quality outdoor products and takes on the tasks of the time, intending to improve and find solutions to all problems.
True to the company motto, "Be the one", Reusch develops and makes gloves that make winter and outdoor activities more cosy. From gloves for ski racing to snowboard gloves and gloves for mountaineering, Reusch covers almost every glove category there is. Typical are ski gloves like the Reusch Down Spirit GTX®, which can be seen as an ultimate classic and all-time favourite.
During a holistic sustainability concept under the motto "Taking Care", measures are taken to implement sustainable processes throughout the entire value chain, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of Reusch brand gloves. The new Reusch Discovery GORE-TEX ePE Touch-Tec™ is the perfect example of this. This glove features the new GORE-TEX ePE waterproof membrane, which offers reliable performance and durability while maintaining a low environmental footprint.
From the winter season, 22/23, the Reusch glove family has been extended with Limitless. With "Limitless", Reusch is not simply introducing a new product line but a brand-new collection that goes beyond Reusch’s familiar alpine ski world. The Limitless concept was created to unite all outdoor activities in winter (and not only) under one roof and to emphasise that there are no limits to being outside and enjoying the diversity of nature. Therefore, the term "Limitless" refers to all those outdoor/multisport activities you can do every day in autumn, winter, and spring, from ski-touring, cross-country skiing, running, walking, and cycling to simply going for a walk.
One of the most iconic styles in the Limitless collection is the new Reusch Alp-X Touch-Tec™, the perfect companion for the descent of your next dream ski tour..
