He explains the geographical differences in weather caused by different landforms such as mountains, valleys and deserts, shows you how to distinguish between cold and warm fronts, how to use cloud formations to predict approaching weather, how to use an altimeter, estimate wind speed and much more. Michael Hodgson also explains how to use signs of nature to make semi-reliable predictions, for example by observing the morning and evening skies, insectivorous birds, frost and dew. A combination of all observations then enables you to estimate the weather in advance.
