Description

Hiking has a long tradition in the Upper Bavarian Alps, and now cyclists have also discovered this region. The network of well-developed forest roads is extensive, and the other paths are also mostly in good condition. Therefore many of the tours presented are also suitable for non-professionals. The touring possibilities in this biking area are so varied that the routes presented here are only a selection and should also invite you to discover them for yourself.

According to the geographical conditions a division into three tour areas is possible: Firstly, the Loisachtal between the Zugspitze and Ohlstadt, secondly the Isar Valley between Mittenwald and Bad Tölz (additionally the tours around Kochelsee and Walchensee), and finally the area between Tegernsee and Intal.

Length and altitude difference The total length of the 27 tours covered in this mountain bike guide is around 814 kilometres and 21300 metres of altitude difference.
