Description

The goal of the Slingfin with its Windsaber tent is as simple as it is demanding: to build the lightest possible and most stable 4-season tent there is. If you look at the weight of around 2 kg, at least half of the target has been reached. But is the part stable enough? And if it is. The framework for the high stability is the patented WebTruss™, which forms the skeleton (as well as the ligament and tendon apparatus) of the Windsaber. It can also be easily set up in storms. Once the base is up, the inner tent can simply be clipped onto it and the outer tent thrown over it. Alternatively, you can first attach the outer tent to it and then mount the inner tent in the dry.

If the storm or the snow load pushes massively, the trekking poles can also be installed in WebTruss™ to provide even more stability. In addition, the tension can be quickly increased by pulling the lines on the WebTruss™ and inside. This makes the Windsaber absolutely stable even under the most difficult conditions. The outer tent and floor are silicone-coated on both sides, which of course makes the tent completely waterproof, but also increases its tear resistance enormously.

As if all this were not enough, the Windsaber also boasts with its equipment. One entrance can be closed completely windproof, but also has a second mesh cover if more ventilation is required. The other entrance has the shape of a tunnel and is closed with a drawstring, so you can enter the tent even if the zipper is frozen. It also allows you to climb into the tent in a snow storm without blowing snow inside. Alternatively, the entrance also serves as an apside where clothes and equipment can be stored dry, as the tunnel has the same water resistance as the outer tent.

If only a normal tour is planned, the Windsaber tent also allows to leave the WebTruss™ at home and to replace a part of the poles by the trekking poles, which reduces the weight again. If you take a closer look at the Windsaber, you can only congratulate Slingfin - they have achieved their goal!
